A Gmail guide is what you need to know if you are using Google mail. The information about this service is widely spread over the Internet, but not all of it is accurate.
It is important that you understand how Gmail works in order to use the appropriate features and configure it correctly. You have to know what kind of account you have, whether you have a dedicated e-mail or a Gmail account.
Gmail is a very powerful e-mail client, that enables you to organize your mail and send specific mail messages to specific recipients. You can create multiple’mail corners’ where you can organize your e-mails into different folders, labels, or archives. It also has an in-built address book where you can store the addresses of friends, colleagues and family that you do not regularly keep in touch with.
Gmail accounts are managed by Google and the information they store is quite confidential. This means that there may be some content on your account that is no longer wanted by you or is being abused by others. In order to delete unwanted content, you will need to enter a ‘backup’ area where you can save the changes you have made.

Gmail offers two kinds of accounts – a free one for Gmail alone, and a commercial ‘gTLD’ account which have paid options like Google Apps and Gmail. The first one is the better of the two, as it gives you access to more advanced features, such as anti-spam filtering and anti-jailbreaking tools.
With this account, you can easily take your business emailing to the next level. And if you are signed up for an official Google mail account (which is usually a requirement if you want to use Google’s Gmail service), you can get an additional Gmail account for your organization, which will provide additional functionality. You can set up groups, assign permissions and even transfer emails between various departments if you have the technical knowledge required.
As Google Mail Account FAQ’s notes, you can’t actually use this email system on mobile devices. However, you can use IMAP and POP3/SMTP for Gmail, in addition to Gmail itself. All the standard mail functions are available, such as auto-responders, calendar events, attachments, etc. The Google Guide explains that Gmail for Mobile is still under development, but the company does mention that this will come later this year.
If you sign up for multiple Gmail accounts, Google can analyze your data and recommend changes. They do this by sending you emails with matching labels.
For instance, if you use ‘junk email’ for instance, Google might send you emails with related labels, to reduce the amount of spam you receive. This also applies to sending out invitations and deleting old emails. All in all, Google wants to help you stay organized, and is constantly improving its email client interface.
